QUILCENE EMERGENCY WEATHER SCHOOL CLOSURE INFO
During the upcoming winter months there may be certain weather conditions that will require school delays or closures. Every family should have a plan covering what to do when children arrive home early due to early closure of school. As soon as the district has made the decision to either start school later than normal or close completely, the information will be sent to the Public Schools Emergency Communications System. It will then be broadcast via radio/TV stations in our area. You can also log onto the emergency communications system webpage at http://www.schoolreport.org. You can view the current message and/or sign up to receive e-mails whenever there is a message. You can also access this website by logging onto the district’s website at www.quilcene.wednet.edu and clicking on the “Emergency Closure Info” button under site shortcut on the homepage.Below are radio and television stations you can listen to between 5am and 9am if you feel the weather may create hazardous traveling conditions:

Do not call the radio and tv stations or the school. Jammed telephone lines only compound emergencies. No announcement means normal operations.
If the announcement says “Limited Bus Transportation” the following bus schedules will be in effect:
LINGER LONGER/U.S. HWY 101 SOUTH/FISH HATCHERY ROUTE: The bus will not travel up to Hiddendale. Students need to be transported to the Fish Hatchery Road and will be picked up/dropped off by the Big Quilcene Bridge.DABOB/COYLE/CENTER ROAD ROUTE: The bus will run only on the Dabob-Coyle Road. Students on Thorndyke Road or any other side road must come to the main Dabob-Coyle Road. Hazel Point Road and Fisherman’s Harbor will be picked up/dropped off at the Coyle Fire Station. The bus will go no further than the Coyle Fire Station; the Dabob Fire Station; and no Center Road pick up/drop off past the first Dabob Road turn-off.U.S. HWY 101 NORTH/LAKE LELAND/LORDS LAKE LOOP/SNOW CREEK ROUTE: On the north bound trip the bus will travel U.S. 101 only. On its return trip the bus will travel U.S. 101, then Leland Valley Road, south of Lake Leland, to the Leland cutoff, then back to U.S. 101 and on to school. Students living on West Leland Valley Road, Lords Lake Loop Road or Snow Creek Road must come to Highway 101 for pickup/drop off.

PLEASE REFER TO THIS INFORMATION DURING THE WINTER IF NECESSARY. THE DISTRICT WILL ATTEMPT TO KEEP THE BUSES ON SCHEDULE AS MUCH AS ROAD CONDITIONS PERMIT.
