Quilcene School District has received recognition on National and State levels. Dr. Terry Bergeson, Supt of Public Instruction, November 7, 2008 congratulates us for “Noteworthy Academic Achievement” during the 2006-2007 SY in the content areas of reading, mathematics and writing.
OSPI’s Asst Supt for Career and College Readiness Kathleen Lopp congratulates Quilcene School District for “Meeting and Exceeding State targeted academic goals in Career and College Readiness.” In each of the three core areas, the district exceeded the State Target by a significant margin during the 2007-2008 SY.
The National Assessment of Educational Progress has recognized the district for it’s role in support accomplishing “The Nation’s Report Card.”
Finally, on March 25, 2009 the Washington State Senate congratulated Quilcene School District for being selected as one of 46 schools in Washington and from a pool of more than 21,000 public high schools across the nation. The selection as one of the top schools “best schools across the country” was made by U.S. News & World Report, and was formally announced to our State Senate early this year. Quilcene Elementary and High School received Bronze Level recognition and were congratulated by Senator Rosemary McAuliffe, Chair, Senate K-12 Education and Senator Eric Oemig, Vice Chair, Senate K-12 Education.
